About Us
Llano Kitty Fixers operates as a membership-driven nonprofit corporation, convening our dedicated members for monthly meetings in Llano. These gatherings provide a platform for active discussions and collective decision-making on various pertinent topics. Notably, all officers, members, and volunteers generously contribute their time and services without expecting any form of compensation.
President Statement
(This will be a space for a statement that will be added later on)
I want to welcome you to our website and I thank you for your interest in Llano Kitty Fixers, whether your interest is in our services, or you wish to volunteer, or you want to support our efforts through a monetary donation.
We are an all volunteer group which is created to help improve the lives of the community cats in Llano County. While Llano Kitty Fixers was founded in 2024, our members collectively have many years of experience with the TNR process. TNR means Trap-Neuter/spay-Return. We know through this experience that our TNR efforts are making a difference in many local neighborhoods. We have, on occasion, been told by residents who live near a colony that the residents have noticed a big reduction in the neighborhood cat population after the cats in the colony were spayed and neutered.
Community cats do serve a benefit to the community in that their natural prey are the mice and rats and moles as well as snakes. Yes, they also catch birds yet, when nature is in balance, the cats help to keep the bird population at a sustainable level much in the same way as various wildlife agencies permit hunters to kill a specified number of dove, ducks, deer, alligators, and other protected wildlife so that the survivors have a better chance at life. The main reason that a cat colony becomes a nuisance is when the population of the colony grows to the point that the natural food sources are unable to sustain the colony. This is when you see the cats foraging through trash cans and dumpsters and, in time, begin to show signs of starvation. A good TNR program works to keep the population from over-growing the food sources.
So how can we help you? Or how can you help us? Either way, give us a call.
